Accessibility Statement
Last updated:
We want everyone to be able to plan a trip with Traveloonie, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. This statement covers traveloonie.com.
1. Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. The site is partially conformant: most of it meets the standard, and the known exceptions are listed below.
2. How we check
Accessibility is tested automatically every time the site changes, not just once:
- An automated accessibility scanner (axe-core) runs on every public page, in light and dark mode, at phone and desktop widths. A failure blocks the change.
- Separate tests check colour contrast, keyboard use of the menus, the skip link, heading structure, focus visibility, text alternatives for images, touch-target size and horizontal scrolling on small screens.
- We also review pages by hand, including with a keyboard only.
3. What you can expect
- A "Skip to content" link, one main heading per page, and a logical heading order.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Labelled form fields, required fields marked, and errors announced to screen readers.
- Light and dark themes, both tested for contrast, and reduced motion when your device asks for it.
- Pages that reflow on small screens and can be zoomed to 200% or pinched to zoom.
- No video, audio or autoplaying sound.
4. Known limitations
- Vietnam Trip Planner PDF — the downloadable PDF is not tagged for screen readers. Everything in it is also published as web pages: the Vietnam guide and the 10-day itinerary. Email us and we will send an accessible version.
- Security check on forms — if the Cloudflare Turnstile check on a form ever fails for you, email us instead and we will handle your request by hand.
- Interactive globe and map — the 3D globe on the destinations page is a visual extra; every destination it shows is also listed as ordinary links on the same page.
5. Tell us about a problem
If something on Traveloonie is hard to use, email hello@traveloonie.com or use the contact form. Tell us the page and what went wrong, and we will reply within 5 working days. If you need content in another format, we will provide it.
6. About this statement
