Medellin, Colombia
Eternal spring weather, mountain views, and a city reborn
Why Medellin?
Medellinβs transformation is one of the great urban comeback stories. Once notorious, the βCity of Eternal Springβ is now a thriving hub of innovation, art, and culture nestled in a lush Andean valley. The weather sits at a perfect 22C year-round, the cost of living is remarkably low, and the people β known as paisas β are famously warm and welcoming. Digital nomads, foodies, and adventure seekers have all discovered what locals always knew: Medellin is special.
What to Do
Comuna 13 & Urban Culture
Comuna 13 is a must-visit β once the most dangerous neighborhood in the city, itβs now an open-air gallery with vibrant murals, hip-hop dancers, and outdoor escalators connecting hillside streets. Take a guided tour from a local to understand the full story. The Metro Cable gives you stunning aerial views of the valley and connects to the Arvi Ecopark for nature walks.
Nature & Day Trips
Take a day trip to Guatape β the famous colorful village with the towering Piedra del Penol rock (740 steps to the top, but the view is worth every one). The Botanical Garden downtown is free and beautiful. For waterfalls and hiking, head to the Rio Claro nature reserve.
Food & Nightlife
Try bandeja paisa β Colombiaβs hearty national platter of beans, rice, plantain, avocado, and chicharron. The coffee here is world-class and absurdly cheap. El Poblado and Laureles neighborhoods have excellent restaurants and bars. The nightlife in Parque Lleras goes hard on weekends.
