Cape Town to Marrakech — two very different gateways to a continent.

Africa is fifty-four countries; treat any "Africa travel" advice with skepticism. Our two starting points sit at opposite ends: Cape Town for first-time intercontinental travelers who want infrastructure-first wildlife and wine, and Marrakech for medina-walking, riad-staying, market-bargaining sensory overload. Both are best November–March (avoiding the hemisphere-flipped southern summer heat and the Saharan summer).
